10-Minute High-Protein Steak & Eggs Breakfast Recipe
When optimizing metabolism, burning fat, and maintaining mental clarity, how you break your morning fast matters. Traditional high-carb breakfasts trigger a glucose spike followed by an insulin response that leaves you crashing by mid-morning. Swapping refined carbs for high-protein, low-carb meals stimulates satiety hormones (like GLP-1 and PYY), supports Muscle Protein Synthesis (MPS), and keeps blood sugar completely flat.
Nothing sets a strong metabolic foundation quite like classic steak and eggs. Packed with bioavailable nutrients, this savory 10-minute meal suppresses appetite for hours while giving cellular engines maximum fuel.
6 oz Lean steak (sirloin or flank steak, sliced into thin strips)
2 Large pasture-raised eggs
1 cup Fresh baby spinach
1/2 cup Sliced button mushrooms
1 tbsp Grass-fed butter or ghee
Salt, black pepper, and garlic powder to taste
Preparation
Sear the steak: Heat 1/2 tbsp of grass-fed butter in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add steak strips, season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder, and sear for 2–3 minutes per side until browned. Transfer to a plate.
Sauté vegetables: In the same pan, add the remaining butter, sliced mushrooms, and spinach. Sauté for 1–2 minutes until greens are wilted. Move to the side of the pan.
Fry the eggs: Crack eggs directly into the skillet. Fry to preferred doneness (sunny-side up or over-easy works best so the yolk creates a natural sauce).
Plate and serve: Plate everything together and serve immediately.
